With our new Meal Scan feature, you can quickly log meals just by taking a photo. No need to manually type in the dish name, calories, or macros — we will do it for you.

To get started, go to the Diary screen and tap the meal you want to log: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snack.

Then, tap Scan Meal to launch the camera feature.

If you haven't allowed camera access yet:

  • Tap Try it when prompted.

  • Allow the app to access your camera.

  • Take a clear photo of your meal.

  • Wait a few seconds while the AI analyzes your photo and suggests the meal name, calories, and macros.

If the app already has access to your camera:

  • Tap Scan Meal

  • Take a photo of your food.

  • The app will recognise the dish and show its estimated calories and nutritional values.

You can edit the suggested meal name, calories, or macros if needed. Once everything looks right, press Log meal, then tap Done

If the app says that camera access is needed:

  1. Tap Go to Settings

  1. Grant camera access manually:
    • On iOS: SettingsAppsUnimealCamera
    • On Android: SettingsAppsUnimealPermissionsCamera

  2. Reopen the app and try again.

Using our Meal Scan feature will help you save time and stay consistent with your food tracking — all with just a photo!
